December 27, 2004: The upcoming Star Trek: First Contact Special Collector's Edition DVD will feature a tribute to Jerry Goldsmith. The DVD is currently set for release on March 15th, 2005. November 27, 2004: For those who have wondered if the budget cuts made to Enterprise to help assure its fourth season would affect the music, it has been confirmed that this is indeed true. Jay Chattaway's score for "Awakening" was fully synthesized. Apparently about half of the scores for season four will be done without the use of an orchestra.

July 19, 2004: Jay Chattaway will be scoring "Storm Front," the fourth season premiere of Enterprise. Also returning in season four is Velton Ray Bunch. July 15, 2004: Composer Velton Ray Bunch has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Music Composition for a Series (Dramatic Underscore) for the Enterprise episode "Similitude." The 2004 Emmy Awards show will air on September 19th. July 6, 2004: Composer Dennis McCarthy now has an official Web site. February 18, 2004: In a first for a Star Trek television episode, "Doctor's Orders" was credited to two composers, veteran Dennis McCarthy and Trek newcomer Kevin Kiner. February 14, 2004: If you like Jerry Goldsmith and have an extra $130 that you don't know what to do with, check out the 6-disc Jerry Goldsmith at 20th Century Fox boxed set from Varese Sarabande. This title is a limited edition of 1500 (500 left at this writing) and is only available online from the Varese Sarabande CD Club.
