| LINER NOTES by William Livingstone | ||
|
(For brevity's sake only the liner notes relating to the Star Trek tracks are reproduced here). "This programme contains an item by an older colleague whom Williams met and worked with when he fire went to Hollywood, Alexander Courage. Courage, who grew up in New Jersey, became active as an orchestrator in Hollywood in the 1940's. He is represented here by his theme from the long-running television show Star Trek." "Jerry Goldsmith was born in Los Angeles and studied there, as John Williams did, with Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Like Williams, Goldsmith composes serious concert music as well as music for films. His long list of film scores includes such title as Chinatown, The Omen, and The Boys from Brazil as well as Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Alien." |
